In the back the universal flash diffuser of cloth is coated silver inside on the bottom side and black on the outside. Consequently, the largest part of the light is emitted forwards and up and softly distributed. Thus the flash is no longer that hard and the photographs look more natural. The part of the light which is emitted upwards brightens unwanted hard shadows which makes the photographs appear even more natural.
